Animal Rights Nepal (ARN) and the HART collectively rescued numbers of dogs which were going to be provided poisonous meat in Lekhanath Municipality, Kaski on Friday. Rescued dogs were handed over to their respective masters later.
Both NGOs requested the dog masters not to leave their dogs free in the street. They also were requested for regular health check up of dog. It is necessary to give anti rabies vaccine to dogs. Dhana Bahadur Gurung felt happy when ARN and HART rescued his dog from giving poison.

Lekhanath Municipality and Health Education and Agriculture Support Centre killed more than one hundred dogs feeding poisonous meat in Lekhanath Municipality Sisuwa on last Thursday and Friday. Animal Rights Nepal and HART protested against the killing of dogs and requested Lekhanath Municipality and Health Education and Agriculture Support Centre to stop killing stray dogs. “Stray dogs create disturbance to the pedestrians and the non-vaccinated dogs tend to attack and bite people so, we killed the dogs,” said Lekhanath Municipality officer Ram Mani Adhikari. “Street dogs might be infected with rabies and pose dangers to the people and other animals so we have no other option officer Adhikari adds.
After protest, the ARN and HART Lekhanath Municipality officer Adhikari said that was against the animal rights and rights to live dogs so they stopped killing dog. Next time we will not repeat this mistake, Said Adhikari. People are against killing dogs feeding them poison. Navaraj Sapkota said that killing street dogs without conducting proper tests for rabies should be stopped. “Killing animals in such a cruel manner is a crime” said Hari Adhakri, a resident of Lekhanath Municipality Khudi. Animal also have rights to live in this beautiful earth. Nepal Government should make policy for animal rights.

    human being, they have their own right to survive, who the hhell are you to break the echo system.
