Activist Upset Gadhimai Sacrifice

World animal rights activists upset after seeing and knowing the sacrifice of thousands of animals in Gadhimai festival in Gadhimai temple, Bara Nepal. Animal Rights Nepal team also is feeling same for the killing of those animals in the name of god in Gadhimai.

I could not see such inhuman behavior towards innocent animals so I am not able to go Gadhimai festival. Killing and playing with hundred thousand of animals’ blood in name of god is inhuman behavior. So, it should be stopped.
The God never wants bloodshed. Hindu mythologies also don’t advocate the animal sacrifice. It is against the Hindu religion, Pokhara based young Hindu priest Kamalnayan Gautam said. I am feeling very sad knowing the sacrifice of thousands of innocent animals in Gadhimai festival, Gautam added.
Animal rights activist who visited festival and saw killing of thousands of animals are shocked now. Manoj Gautam, Represent roots and shoots Nepal, Krishna Singh, Programme Manager Animal Nepal, Bibi Funyal, photographer, Lucia de Vries, Director Animal Nepal, international campaigner, Pramada Shah, President of Animal Welfare Network Nepal said that they are shocked and upset now.

I have no words to describe the scene. Thousands of buffaloes were standing in an enclosure when butchers holding swords started hacking randomly at the animals. No one was holding the buffaloes – many tried to escape. Baby buffaloes were bleating and searching for their mothers. Soon they were walking around in a pool of blood. They were hunted down by the men. Needless to say, not a single animal survived the blood bath.
In fact, some animals had already died before the sacrifice from the transport and the lack of food and water. They were left in the same spot with the living ones. It was a scene I will never be able to forget. Now I just want to go home and wait for the courage to continue our campaign.’ Roots and Shoots representative Gautam said. Let stop sacrificing animal in the name of god.

Can’t help it, but honest I’ve been upset the whole day through and still am, Hinudism will not be the same, I am 56 years old, Hinduism meant a lot to me. I guess I go my own way after this.
Its really pity that even 21st century people are still believing in animal sacrifice to the name of GOD.
Government should rally take bold step to stop this kind of animal slaughter and sacrifice.
It is unbelievable, on which planet are we actually? How can the madness of men on earth can be stopped? It is a unbelievable too, that in such a short time, mankind made a hell out of this planet, unable to learn, unable to develope empathy and responsibility. Good night earth…
Just stumbled over an article in a famous german magazine about this happening. I can´t believe what these people do to those poor animals slaughtering them in such a babaric way. This thing shouldn`t be at all no matter which religion takes part. Speechless an very sad about this.

Truly backward, primitive and disgusting. The people who do this and support it bring nothing but shame on their country.
The world is watching and is judging Nepal’s level of civilization by these barbaric slaughters.
Even though it is the 21st century, as Shiva reminds us, many people are still so ignorant and uneducated that they belong in the dark ages.
Even in US, China and India…, there is still a system of human death penalty (execution) but we are offering just animals for our belief. Who the hell you so-called animal activists marching on our belief???
I have been in deep trauma being alive during 24th and 25th was hell. Every second I thought of those animals, It is a relief to know they suffer no more.
I write from England and I tell you everyone is hoorified, the Government must not be let off, we must lobby the tourist trade and the embassy, this must never happen again, if we all work together we can stop it, an investigation must be done in Nepal to find out who buys the skins, it has been pushed financially higher above, we need to know by whom, someone is making money from those animals.
Nepal should hold its head in shame, it seems that we must play superstition with superstition, Gadhimai was angry at all that blood and allowed four people and a child to die, now is the time to stop. If this is the only way that people can change then do it that way, spread the rumours.
My heart goes to the people brave enough to film,I will do all I can to help from my end.

This is what happens when people put sense gratification as their religion.
Real religion means to serve God, to sacrifice oneself, not to kill so many innocent creatures just for your materialistic ‘wishes’.
I am a devotee of Krishna, but if this is what happens when these people follow Hinduism, they would be better off following any other religion. I think this is why Prabhupada says ‘we are not Hindus’.
I am amzed at the brutality and cruelty of it. Di these people have any human feelings? What exactly are they?
I am vegetarian, libertarian and esperantist, I am against any form of racism, I love the World, I am for the freedom to be religious but, BUT this is not acceptable, it is against the respect for life.

known for slaughtering as from that period this superstitious
killing is going on.
