Tihar Festival Begins, Let’s worship animals throughout the year

Pokhara: Participants of an interaction program urged to save the right to live of animals in Pokhara on Friday. Animalrightsnepal.org organized that interaction, asking all the concerns to worship animals not only in Tihar, the festival of lights, but also throughout the year.

Addressing the interaction, Spiritual Hindu Pundit Kamal Nayan Gautam said that Tihar is known as an occasion of paying homage to animals too. “Since human being is a supreme living, we have to respect and conserve all the animals,” said Gautam.  Crows, dogs and cows are worshiped in Tihara because they spread different messages that are useful for human being.

Culturist Tirtha Shrestha appealed to stop the slaughter of animals in the temple premises. He also reminded that the brothers and animals are worshiped in Tihar. So, they should maintain sound relationship to each other.
Founder of animalrightsnepal.org Krishna Mani Baral said that the human being and the animals are the members of an ecosystem; so, the end of one of their existence directly affects that chain. He also said that the worshiping of animal must be known in the sense of environmental saving and since human being is a rational living, he is more responsible in conserving the every spice of animals and birds.

Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) central member Punya Poudel, FNJ Kaski chapter president Narayan Karki, senior journalist Madhav Sharma, journalists Narayan Bhattarai, Hemraj Baral, Bibhu Bhusal, Ram Gurung and Himalayan Animal Rescue Team Director Khageshwaar Sharma  delivered their speech on animal rights and the interrelationship of animal and human being during that occasion.
