Leopard cubs die in forest office

Two newly born leopard cubs died at the premises of Local Area Forest Office Kudhar in Pokhara last week.The forest office was taking care of those cubs as mother leopard abandoned them after delivering four cubs near Shivaraj Poudel’s resident in Lekhanath Municipality Kaski.
Out of four, mother leopard earlier ferried two of her cubs to the jungle. The forest officer Dhirendra Pradhan said, “We don’t have favorable environment and feedings for growing up of one week old cubs; so, we are unable to preserve cubs.”
Officer Pradhan further said that the government should support all the District Forest Offices for such a facility to preserve baby animals and wounded animals. Animalrightsnepal.org also urged to concern organizations to take responsibility to preserve orphan and abandoned baby animals as well as wounded wild animals.

    Government of Nepal should provid the sufficient equipment and facilities to such Forest Offices. So that they could save the lives of such animals like those cubs, which are ornament of our forests.
