Hazardous electricity transmission threat to various species of birds
By Krishna Mani Baral
Many species of birds are losing their lives because of Nepal government’s negligence in transmitting electricity through wires without proper insulation.
While most of these birds lose their lives when they rest on these electricity transmission wires with both their feet, some even die while resting on one foot in these wires if they have small wounds on their foot or talon. So, electricity should be transmitted in a safer manner to prevent the death of these birds from electric shock. The practice of using un-insulated wires for transmitting electricity should be immediately stopped.

animalrightsnepal.com requests the Nepal Electricity Authority to opt for safer ways to transmit electricity and use insulated wires for high-tension lines to prevent the death of our feathered friends.
